This article walks you through how Instagram works in the Scheduler app, including supported post types, publishing methods, and available analytics. Youβll also find important notes on platform limitations and practical tips to help you manage your content more effectively.
Supported Post Types
For Instagram Profiles, you can create all these post types via ZoomSphere:
Image Post
Short Video/Reel
Carousel
Story
Mentions on Instagram Profiles
To mention an Instagram account, type "@" in the caption and the desired username. There won't be a roll-out list but if typed correctly, it will become active once the post is live.
β
Tagging on Instagram Profiles
Tagging allows you to place a userβs profile directly on a photo or video. The user will be notified and the post may appear in their tagged photos.
β
To tag a profile, click on Tag Users under the caption, tap the area of the photo where you want to add a tag and enter the username.
β
π‘ Tagging Private and Restricted accounts is not supported due to Instagram API limitation and it also doesn't allow user search, so usernames need to be typed manually or copied and pasted.
Instagram Collaboration
Instagram Collaborations allow you to co-author posts or Reels, making the same content visible across all collaboratorsβ profiles and audiences.
β
To add collaborators, click on "Invite Collaborators" under your caption.
β
Once invited collaborators accept the request, the post is shared on their profiles and engagement such as likes, comments, and shares is combined for all parties.
β
Please note: You can invite up to 3 collaborators, as this is the maximum allowed by the Instagram API for third-party tools.
Post Performance
After your posts are published, you can track how they are performing directly in the ZoomSphere Scheduler App.

Instagram Business Account vs. Instagram Creator Account
Because of Instagram API limitations, only Business and Creator accounts can be connected and used in ZoomSphere. Personal Instagram accounts are not supported, and there is also one small difference between Business and Creator accounts. ππΌ

Manual Publishing
Manual publishing is ideal for Stories and Reels when you want to enhance your content with music, stickers, filters, and other interactive elements.
β
These features are not supported by third-party tools due to Instagram API limitations and must be added directly in the Instagram app. However, manual publishing is not limited to Stories and Reels - it can be used for all Instagram post types.
β
How to do it
π‘ To use the manual publishing feature, you need to download the ZoomSphere Mobile App: Google Play and App Store.
1. Select Manual Publishing mode and assign a teammate responsible for publishing.
β
2. Then, schedule and approve your Instagram posts in the Scheduler. Once approved, the mobile app will notify you when itβs time to publish.
β
3. When you receive the notification, tap it to open the app and review your scheduled post. Clicking Publish to Instagram now saves your media to your gallery and copies the caption, so you can quickly upload it to Instagram and paste the text.
β
Instagram Feed Preview
Want to see how your scheduled posts fit into your overall feed? You can preview it directly in ZoomSphere.
β
In the Instagram Feed view, you can filter posts by status, preview your content, and open post details with a click.
β
Easily switch between connected profiles, and rearrange posts using drag & drop in the calendar - any changes will instantly reflect in your feed and update the scheduled date.

Add Your Location
Locations on Instagram are based on Facebook Pages. However, only pages with a properly set location - meaning they include geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) can be used.
If a Facebook Page doesnβt have this information filled in, it wonβt appear as an option when selecting a location for your Instagram post.
To add it to your post, click the location icon in the caption field, type the location, and select it from the dropdown.
β
Once you pick your location, click on the save button and continue to schedule and approve your Instagram posts in the Scheduler. When your post is published, you will see the location there.
β
Post ID
Increase reach by boosting Instagram posts using the Post ID feature.
β
Once your post is set to the Approved Status, click Copy Post ID under your post - it will be automatically saved to your clipboard. This identifier is crucial for initiating the boosting process in the Ads Manager, allowing you to promote it in Meta - even before itβs published.
