ZoomSphere is now listed in Claude's official connector directory. If you added it by hand as a custom connector during early access, it keeps working, because both use the same server. We still recommend switching to the directory version: you get updates and a cleaner setup, and Claude stops seeing every ZoomSphere tool twice. It takes about five minutes.
Who needs this: anyone who added ZoomSphere through Add, Custom connector with the address https://mcp.zoomsphere.com/mcp, and Team or Enterprise Owners who added it for their organization the same way.
Step 1: Check whether you have it twice
Open your connectors (claude.ai: your name, Settings, Customize, Connectors; desktop app: Customize, Connectors). On the Yours tab with the filter on All, search for ZoomSphere. The early-access version shows a Custom badge next to Web. If you see two ZoomSphere rows, Claude sees every tool twice, which makes it slower and less predictable.
Step 2: Connect the directory version
Open claude.ai/customize/connectors/id/zoomsphere while signed in to Claude, click Connect and sign in with your ZoomSphere account. The full walkthrough is in How to connect ZoomSphere to Claude.
The ZoomSphere page in Claude's directory. Before you connect, the button reads Connect.
Step 3: Remove the custom one
Open the row with the Custom badge, click the three dots next to Disconnect and choose Remove. Disconnect alone only signs you out and keeps the row in your list.
Three dots, then Remove.
Step 4: Set your tool permissions again
Permissions belong to a connector, so the new one starts with the defaults. Open ZoomSphere on the Yours tab and set Tool permissions again. A good starting point: Read-only tools on Always allow, Write/delete tools on Needs approval.
Step 5: Update your scheduled tasks
A scheduled task uses the connectors that were switched on when it was created. After you remove the custom connector, open every task that works with ZoomSphere and make sure the new ZoomSphere connector is switched on for it. Then run the task once on demand and check the result.
Tip: a scheduled task runs with nobody watching. Any ZoomSphere tool it needs that is set to Needs approval makes it wait for a click that never comes, so set those tools to Always allow and block anything the task should never do.
For Team and Enterprise Owners
If you added ZoomSphere as a custom connector for the whole organization:
Add the directory version: Organization settings, Connectors, Add, All available, search for ZoomSphere. See Claude for Teams: rolling out ZoomSphere to your organization.
Set the organization-wide tool limits on the new connector.
Tell your team, and give them a few days to connect the new version and update their scheduled tasks.
Then delete the custom connector: three dots on its row, Delete. This removes it for everyone, so do it last.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose my chats or posts? No. Your posts live in ZoomSphere, and your chats stay in Claude. Older chats that used the custom connector remain readable.
Do I have to switch? The custom connector keeps working for now. Switching avoids duplicate tools and makes sure you get new tools as soon as we release them.
What about Claude Code and other MCP clients? Nothing changes there. They keep using the server address https://mcp.zoomsphere.com/mcp.
