How to Connect ZoomSphere to Claude (MCP Setup Guide)

Step-by-step guide to adding ZoomSphere to Claude as a custom connector, in a browser and in the desktop app, including permissions and first prompts.

Written by Jakub Mach

Claude can work inside your ZoomSphere workspace directly through MCP (Model Context Protocol): it does not hand you text to copy somewhere, it puts the post in your calendar. This guide shows how to add ZoomSphere to Claude as a custom connector, on claude.ai in a browser and in the Claude desktop app.

Early access. ZoomSphere is not yet listed in Claude's connector directory, so you add it by hand. It takes about five minutes. All plans work (Free, Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise). Free accounts may keep only one custom connector at a time.

Team or Enterprise member and your Owner has already added ZoomSphere for the organization? You do not need this guide, use Claude for teams: rolling out ZoomSphere to your organization instead.

What you will need

  • A ZoomSphere account with access to the workspace you want Claude to work in. Claude will only ever see what that account can see.

  • A Claude account on any plan.

  • The server address: https://mcp.zoomsphere.com/mcp

  • About five minutes.

No API keys, no tokens, nothing to copy out of ZoomSphere. The server address is the same for everybody. You identify yourself by signing in to ZoomSphere the normal way. If any guide or any person ever asks you to paste a ZoomSphere API key into a chat window, stop, because that is not how this works.

Step 1: Open the connectors screen

In a browser (claude.ai)

  1. Click your name in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. In the settings window, find the group called Customize in the left sidebar and click Connectors. It is not in the Settings group above it.

  4. Make sure the tab Your connectors is selected, not Discover. Discover is a catalogue of ready-made connectors and ZoomSphere is not in it yet.

  5. Set the filter to All, so you also see connectors you have not connected yet.

  6. Click Add in the top-right corner.

The account menu on claude.ai. Markers 1 and 2: your name at the bottom-left, then Settings.

The settings sidebar. Marker 3: Connectors, in the Customize group.

The connectors screen. Markers 4, 5, 6: Your connectors tab, All filter, Add button.

In the Claude desktop app

The desktop app has no settings window for this. It is one click in the sidebar.

  1. Click Customize in the left sidebar.

  2. Select the Connectors tab.

  3. Select Yours, not Discover. Both have to be selected, otherwise you are browsing the catalogue instead of your own connectors.

  4. Click Add in the top-right corner.

The desktop app sidebar. Marker 1: Customize.

Two rows of tabs. Markers 2, 3, 4: Connectors, Yours, Add.

From here on the desktop app shows the same screens as the browser.

Step 2: Fill in the name and the address

  1. Name: type ZoomSphere. This is only a label for your own list.

  2. MCP server URL: paste https://mcp.zoomsphere.com/mcp

  3. Click Continue.

The Add custom connector dialog, empty. Markers 1, 2, 3: Name, MCP server URL, Continue.

Exactly how it should look before you click Continue.

Copy the address, do not retype it. A custom connector cannot be edited afterwards. One wrong character and your only option is to remove it and start again.

Step 3: Sign in to ZoomSphere and allow access

Claude takes you to app.zoomsphere.com. If you are not signed in there, log in with your normal ZoomSphere account. Then you get the authorization screen.

The ZoomSphere authorization screen. Served by ZoomSphere, not by Claude: the address bar must read app.zoomsphere.com.

Check three things, then click Allow Access:

Redirects to

Permissions

"Access and manage your ZoomSphere data through MCP". Read and write, with your own account's rights.

Signed in as

Check that it is you, and the right ZoomSphere account. This is the identity Claude will act under.

"This application is not verified by ZoomSphere." Expected during early access. It appears for every application that has not been through our formal review yet, our own included. The notice goes away once the integration leaves early access.

Step 4: Check that it says connected

You land back in Claude with a small "Connected to ZoomSphere" message in the corner. In the list, the ZoomSphere row now shows Individual under Authorization and a check mark under Status.

What success looks like: Authorization Individual, Status check mark.

Nothing happened after Continue? Pop-up blockers are the usual culprit. Allow pop-ups for claude.ai, then click Connect on the ZoomSphere row and try again.

Step 5: Decide what Claude may do without asking

Click the ZoomSphere row to open it. Under Tool permissions every tool is listed, split into Read-only tools and Write/delete tools. Two minutes here decide how much freedom Claude gets in your calendar.

  • The dropdown on the right of a group sets every tool in that group at once.

  • The three icons on a row set that one tool.

Tool permissions for a connected ZoomSphere connector. Marker 1: group dropdown. Marker 2: per-tool icons.

Always allow

Claude uses the tool without asking. Sensible for read-only tools.

Needs approval

Claude stops and asks you every time. This is the default.

Blocked

Claude cannot use the tool at all.

Custom

Shown when the tools in a group are set individually.

The group dropdown with the four modes.

A good starting point: set Read-only tools to Always allow and leave Write/delete tools on Needs approval. Claude can then answer questions about your calendar freely, and still has to ask before it creates, changes or deletes anything.

Step 6: Switch it on in your chat

Connecting the account is not the same as using it in a conversation. These switches are per chat, so a brand new chat may start without ZoomSphere.

  1. In any chat, click the + button at the left end of the message box.

  2. Click Connectors.

  3. Switch ZoomSphere on.

The + menu in a browser. Markers 1, 2, 3: plus button, Connectors, ZoomSphere switch.

The same menu in the desktop app. A couple of labels differ, the switches work the same.

Step 7: Try it

Start with something read-only, so you can see it really is talking to your workspace:

  • "What ZoomSphere channels do I have connected, and what is scheduled for next week?"

  • "Draft three LinkedIn posts about our new pricing and put them in ZoomSphere as ideas."

  • "Schedule the approved carousel for Thursday 9:00 on Instagram and LinkedIn."

If you left write tools on Needs approval, Claude stops before the first one and asks. Read what it is about to do, then allow it.

Managing the connector later

Open the connector from the list. Disconnect signs you out but keeps the connector. The three dots next to it hold Refresh tools list (use it whenever we announce a new tool) and Remove, which deletes the connector entirely.

Disconnect and the three-dot menu on a connected connector.

The three-dot menu: Refresh tools list, Remove.
