Scheduler: Dark Post (Unpublished Post)

Useful guide to help you create a dark post for Facebook in ZoomSphere Scheduler.

A dark post is a sponsored Facebook post that is paid for but doesn't appear on your Timeline.

Important information

  • Dark Posts are exclusive to Facebook.

  • When crafting a post, select only one Facebook Page. If you choose multiple social media profiles, the option for a Promoted-only post will not be available.

  • You can create posts in any format except for photo albums, stories and Reels.

How to Create a Dark Post

1. Choose Post Type

Select a Facebook Page and choose the post type. Include a post copy along with an image or video.

2. Enable Promoted-only (dark post)

Set up the date and time. And select the “Promoted-only (dark post)” option.

3. Approve your post and copy post ID

Once the post status is Approved, the post ID will be available. Click the "Post ID for Meta Ads Manager" button.

The post will be automatically labeled as a Dark Post in the calendar, allowing you to easily track your content.

4. Facebook Ads Manager

Now, you can manage the post in Ads Manager, where it is automatically saved.

Ad Setup

→ When creating a New Ad Identity, choose Use Existing Post.

Ad creative

→ Now, click the Enter Post ID button and paste the post ID saved from the Scheduler app.

After pasting the post ID, the post will be visible in your Ads Manager. Proceed to configure the remaining aspects of your campaign and click Publish.

5. Done!

Now you're all set to promote your dark post! 👌
