Administrator vs. User Account in ZoomSphere

Every ZoomSphere team has one Administrator account with access to all settings, plus User accounts invited by the Administrator. Here is what each account can do.

Written by Karolina

Every ZoomSphere team has exactly one Administrator account and any number of User accounts. The Administrator is the main account with access to all team settings: it connects social media channels, invites users, manages workspaces and statuses, and grants access to apps. User accounts are created and invited by the Administrator and work within the apps and channels they have been given access to.

If you can't see most of the settings in ZoomSphere, you are most likely logged in to a User account. To change team settings, contact your team's Administrator.

Administrator account

  • There is only one Administrator in each ZoomSphere team.

  • It is the very first account created in the team.

  • It is the only account that can connect new social media channels and refresh them when the connection is lost.

  • It is the only account that can add and invite new users, create and edit workspaces, and edit Scheduler statuses and content pillars.

  • It grants each user access to apps and channels, and can allow users to create their own apps and chat rooms.

  • It can switch to its users' accounts, but cannot access the users' chats.

User account

  • A User account is created and invited to the team by the Administrator, who can send the user an email invitation.

  • A user can only edit the settings of apps they installed themselves.

  • A user can create chat rooms and install their own apps if the Administrator grants that permission.

  • A user needs a Scheduler role to work with a social media channel.

Frequently asked questions

  • Why can't I see most of the settings in ZoomSphere?

You are logged in to a User account. Team-level settings such as connecting channels, inviting users or editing workspaces are available only in the Administrator account. Ask your Administrator to make the change or to grant you the access you need.

  • Who can reconnect a social media channel when the connection expires?

Only the Administrator. Users can't refresh channel connections, so they need to let the Administrator know. How to reconnect your channels
