Using organic Targeting in Facebook posts is a great way to control post visibility. It allows you to choose who can see your post on their Newsfeed and Page's Timeline based on the user's location and language. 🎯

What is Audience Targeting

Audience Targeting is a feature that allows advertisers to define specific criteria or segments of users who are most likely to be interested in their ads. This targeting can be based on various factors such as demographics, interests, behaviors, and connections. By using Audience Targeting, advertisers can reach their desired audience more effectively, leading to better ad performance and higher engagement.

Audience Targeting in ZoomSphere

In ZoomSphere, you can set up organic audience targeting for each of your posts (without the need to promote your post as an ad) to reach a specific group of users on Facebook and LinkedIn based on the available criteria for each platform. This allows you to target the perfect audience for your post organically!

Example: Facebook Targeted Audience

For instance, if we set up a targeting for a Facebook Post:

Location: London and Paris
Language: English, French

πŸ‘‰ The post will only be visible to users located in London and Paris, with their Facebook language set to English or French, on both their Newsfeed and your Page's Timeline. πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰ Users from London and Paris who have their Facebook set to a different language will not see the post.πŸ’‘

πŸ‘‰ Users with the Facebook language set to English or French but located outside of London or Paris will not see the post.

Setup

Start creating a Facebook post. Find the Targeting button in the caption field, next to the Hashtags and Templates, emojis, and the Location. πŸ‘‡

Add location and language. You can add as many locations and languages as needed.

Once you have Saved your Targeting, the "custom icon" βš™οΈ will appear in the post preview. After saving the post, the Targeting icon 🎯 will be visible on the post miniature in your Scheduler calendar.

When published, the custom icon will be available in the post. Hold the mouse cursor at the Custom icon above the post, and you will see that it is Visible to: Custom πŸ˜‰

Tips & Tricks

Since the Facebook API does not allow publishing multiple-language posts for third-party tools such as ZoomSphere, thanks to this targeting feature, you can still create multiple language postsβ€”each can be targeted to a different location and language.

πŸ‘‰ As a result, even though you have published five 'same-looking' posts in different languages, page visitors will only see one in their Newsfeed and Page Timeline. If the user does not match any location or language criteria, the post will not be visible to them at all. πŸ˜‰

Limitations

Facebook Audience targeting feature is unavailable for Facebook Reels, Stories, and Photo Album posts due to API limitations.πŸ’‘
